@joninpgh My uncle and i changed the shcoks on his 99 explorer which has a similar chassie what a diffrence! I dont know if ill be able to afford a 03 or newer but in my opinion 4 wheel disc brakes are a huge saftey feature and is very important in a heavy truck that will be doing some light duity work. Im thinking this or a 3rd gen explorer suv seems good ether way.

@yellowcow13 They are an excellent all-around vehicle. I would advise getting an '03 or newer because they have 4 wheel disc brakes and replace the shocks if they look original because the stock ones are too soft even when new.

I work at a Ford dealer and OWN a Sport Trac. And I have to say regarding durability of the inner bed. I have seen one wrecked. The outer bed side was mutilated, but the inner was unharmed!
