Paul is German, so he's not singing it as a native English speaker would. But, musically, his piano work is among the best and he's backed by a first class rhythm section and fantastic tenor player.
@spacepatrolman there was an article in the paper nelson riddles daughter put out a cd by him cross country suite they werent sure if they were going to sell enough copys to break even but they did it just for the love of doing it
@johnbresnik yes i like those 50s shows like space patrol and rocky jones captain video made an appearance at a shopping mall when i was there nelson riddle went to high school in the next town i have the sheet music to the untouchables and the album i talked to a musician was it in here or myspace who worked with riddle and went out to dinner with him
@spacepatrolman - I was a professional musician for nine years - played jazz in a lot of bands in LA and Germany. I've never heard a band cover Riddle's version -- but, every band under the sun has Troup's original version on their playlist. I can see that you're a Riddle fan, but Troup's version has been the most popular, by far. Just curious -- is the "spacepatrolman" a reference to the Space Patrol TV series in the 50s? That was my absolute favorite program as a kid.

I don't like this version at all... this singer can't sing at all.. I prefer nat king cole's version.
