PINA is a feature-length dance film in 3D with the ensemble of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, featuring the unique and inspiring art of the great German choreographer Pina Bausch, who died in the summer of 2009. PINA is directed by Wim Wenders (Buena Vista Social Club, Wings of Desire), who was a long-standing friend of Pina's.Wenders takes the audience on a sensual, visually stunning journey of discovery into a new dimension: straight onto the stage with the legendary ensemble and follows the dancers out of the theatre into the city and the surrounding areas of Wuppertal - the place, which for 35 years was the home of Pina Bausch. PINA reinvigorates the way 3D film technology can be used.

  • it's one of my favorite parts, I love it. Incredible

  • @Phioletovii I have seen with "my own eyes" (through 3D glasses), and I can't agree with you. Emotions, passion and spirit were more important to Pina Bausch and her group of dancers than technique. And they definitely have all of that, but I can't say that they have no skill. I was really impressed by this movie and those dances. Pina Bausch is a real emperor of dance.

  • Amon Tobin <3

  • @Phioletovii i'm not quite into dance, but enjoyed the movie and didn't feel it's fake.. if you think it is, could you recommend me a dance movie, which in your opinion is great (or if you can't think of any, some other movie you think is particularly worth seeing)? i would gladly watch it.. regards.

  • I love this, it is like he is doing battle with himself. Beautiful.

  • Beautiful dancing!

  • @Phioletovii I could understand you, if you were talking about someone else, but in this case, I really disagree. But, that's life! On the contrary, I think she really needed truth. I think I can't persuade you, and you can't persuade me, so let's take the best for each one of us from this film (and each one can decide what's to take and what's to throw away)! bye

  • @occhialcielo I did, and I was crying after it because it was so fake.

I am sensitive to fake things, and I do love art including modern too.

Pina is not the worst of fake things, there are many things much worse.

  • @Phioletovii Really? Have you seen the movie? Because, reading your comment, it's clear you didn't!

  • @Phioletovii And it's only natural that some contemporary dancers (especially the American school of dancing) have a more advanced technique. Bausch was one of those who started the contemporary dance, but it has evolved since then. Besides, this is not "dancing" in the common sense of the word. It is more akin to the theatre of movements (actually, like a lot of the contemporary dance).

And the comparison with Indian movies is quite unsuccessful and misplaced.
