The Legacy of Cable Street

Ubby Cowan (90 this year) helped orchestrate the Battle of Cable Street on October 4th 1936. The event was a mass demonstration to stop Mosley and his Black-shirt fascists from marching through Stepney, East London spreading their message of rascism and hate. This film is a short doc telling Ubby's story.

The little East End, once a proud, working class English area, who knew little about fascism, which faced an influx of Jews and Irishmen, naturally fought against Mosely and his fascists, but now, the Jews have mostly died out and fucked off to other parts of London (what a shame) and the muslim vermin have totally colonised the East End it looks totally unrecognisable.

@SOCIALISTnetwork I say that because they did have some national socialists in the group, however, most of them ended up splitting with the BUF anyways because it never took an anti-semetic stance which only resulted in a about a dozen or so individuals leaving teh party with Joyce. Does anybody really trust what this communist pig is saying? The BUF was never officially anti-semitic. Mosley made some references to the Jews when he talked about being anti-finance and anti-communist, because of the attacks that his group was suffering from Jews. Additionally the BUF had marched through East London before and never had any problems. This was organized by a bunch of communists from all over Britain.
