Thanks for this, homestar. I spent 4 hours last night trying to sort this. It might be useful to say that my problem - trying to do a clean format on a laptop with Ubuntu in preparation for a Windows 7 install (it needs NTFS) - was solved by putting GPartition on a USB and using it as a boot drive on the laptop. Worked a treat, but what a hassle! Sorry you Ubuntu fans, but it is a delight to be back on Windows...

@hyweltthomas Well, I'll be the first to say Linux isn't for everyone. In fact, since I now use my Youtube channel mostly for video game videos, that requires me to use Windows for the most part. But I am glad you tried out Linux. Now you know it's not for you and there's not a thing wrong with that (:

@androiddevelophowto Are you on a live CD? You would have to modify the commands since a CD is read-only.
