This was our big party weekend... we had 50ish friends and family over... some camped out while others can for the day... I think everyone had a good time... I know we did...

as for projects :) as there are always projects.... I took my American Style Scythe out for a run.... widened the driveway back and figured I'd demo it a bit... I have not used one since I was a kid but I picked this one up a couple of years back... works well...

We almost finished off the roof on the pole barn... we kinda new we were one panel short so we had already ordered an extra but everything else is in... just need to trim it up a bit and we are good to go...

lastly we cleaned up one of the many... many brush piles... the temps were cooler and it had rained overnight so a big burn was not to much of a risk... now the back driveway is cleared again... opened up for ATV use :)

  • @FloatFishnConnection yeah, we are not that far apart but the weather was clear for us but very hot. We got some rain early Sunday morning but that was welcomed as it brought the temps down considerably.

I've had that scythe for a couple of years... I used one as a kids as we grew winter rye in the garden for composting and used it to harvest... for knocking grass down nothing else made works as nice... this one was all rusted and the wood was dried out when I got it but it cleaned up nice...

  • We had 10 friends up at camp this past weekend, weather was hit or miss for most of Sunday and then Sunday into Monday we got pummeled with rain. Ended up being at home by noon on Monday. Nice brush fire, btw! You've motivated me to search CL for a scythe of my own, sure beats hauling up the weed eater for the small jobs!

  • @rawimpact sooner or later we are getting a dozer in to work that driveway to a little less of a grade and flatten the area near there... probably should have burned that one but it's a nice sittin stump :)

  • Best way to clear that stump would of been to put those dead branches around ad over the stump and then light it on fire.
