  • Hey swampchord, did you manage to get that clunking out? I have the same problem with my 82 kz750. I cleaned the carbs and synced. What did you do to fix it? I also checked the cam chain and that was fine. One mechanic said the primary chain was loose. I don't know, but I want to fix it.

  • @superjimbob911 Hi, the one outside carbs pilot jet was partially blocked and the cylinder was weak and the headpipe wasn't warming up like the others, it's running like it should now....strong and all headpipes are getting hot together, I missed cleaning the pilot jets the first time because they are under those plastic caps.

  • its not running on 4 cylinders

  • the one outside cylinder was firing weak, come to find out the pilot jet was partially blocked, now it runs and sounds strong.

  • nice example mate!:)I've got a z1b1075 and a gpz 750 turbo!love the zeds to death,such wonderous machines!:)

  • when mine was klunkin i tapped on the cam chain tensioner and it quieted down, it also has a carb cleaning and oil change and new plugs,I just turned over 34800 miles, tough bikes

  • GETTING THE CLUNK OUT: Just did with my KZ750. Start with a valve job. Get them REALLY clean. Put the valve seals in properly. No valve tool? BUY ONE. I got mine for $42 bucks on ebay. Just search motorcycle valve tool. Then make sure when you put it together, that you get the cam chain nice and snug, but NOT tight. If your KZ is like mine (750H3LTD), you won't have stock exhaust any more. I upgraded to a V&H 4to1 Megaphone. Do a stage 3 carb jet kit, and enjoy the quiet whine!

  • @swampchord did you just unblock the pilot jet and that fixed it or did you do something else? Do you have another video of this bike fixed? Thanks

  • Ive got an 80 twin and it doesnt look any bit as beautiful as that!

  • i have the same bike but the striping is blue. mine has a dead spot at the begining of throttle under a load. rebuilt the tops of the carbs but not the bottom i don't know what else to try. does anyone know if you can put the gpz fairring on this bike and where can i get some drag bars?

  • @jebysan Hey jebysan, I have the same problem with my kz750. If you think its the timing, how can I fix this. Everyone tells me its something different thats causing the clunking. The last person told me primary chain. Others told me carbs, cam chain, clutch basket. All those things were fixed but still the clunking. If you have any idea how I can fix this that would be great. Thanks
