I wanted to design a very simple rope twisting machine from readily available parts found all over the world. I chose push bike components because these can be found all over the planet second hand or new for very cheap prices. this machine will be simplified even further by doing away with bearings and simply running all shafts in metal pipe as the revolutions are so slow operating at hand speeds that bearings aren't really needed. just metal rods welded to the gears and run back through metal pipe of similar diameters. The tools used are very basic hacksaw, welder, oxy acetylene torch.and all the obvious tools like tape measure and pencil.
