Some old home movies of West View Park, now long gone. I haven't been able to find many pictures of the old amusement park, so I thought others from the Pittsburgh might enjoy. There is a glimpse of the Dips, but no good shots.

  • Great video--Shopping center there now is super sickening!!

  • What's with the 4+ black kids pushing one white kid around at 2:45?

The more things change, the more they stay the same, with trash anyway.

  • I would've love to of been there. I lived in West View for 3 years. Now I'm in Sewickley Heights. :/ It just amazes me. I really wish I would've been there. My dad lived in West View his whole life till now.

  • @kit4kat Horrible to think of that. I would have loved to have gone to that park at least one time but i was born way too late.

  • Peebles Elementary school picnic every late spring.

Last I may have been there was 1965. Do not recognize anything.

I remember the white roller-coaster timbers.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • THis is sooo awesome! THanks for posting it. I spent many a school picnic at that place in the 60's and 70's s! you did a perfect job of captureing that moment in time...

  • Thanks for putting this up. As others have mentioned, thanks for bringing back great old memories.

  • Great video. So many memories! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • I remember going here for my fathers company picnic. He worked at American Bridge. I loved West View even more than Kennywood. Davey Jones Locker and the fun house with the boats were my favorites.

  • I walked through West View Park after it was closed down but before it was torn down... I was the only one there ...walking past abandoned rides, all grown over ... it was creepy... all my child memories.
