It's because some americans who play this are teens or younger. That age group isn't heavy on grammar and punctuation ... (If you heard it from anyone it was probably someone of that age, or a bad english speaker.) I have never said tereria and i haven't ever seen a single person who speak english or type in english, say that. Stereo types hurt.
