Guitar Hero: Metallica was pretty awesome. Because of that game, we got the instrumental tracks of each of their song. :)

@MdiegoxA Cool Edit Pro, quite an old version of it.
You can do this sort of thing with any software that lets you record and mix sound. Separate master tracks for drums, bass, guiatars and vocals can be found here on Youtube. I simly played these videos and recorded the sound into Cool Edit Pro.
