Hello Robin, just wanted to drop you a line and tell you that we are in the foster care system to become parents. We have taken every step and are now just waiting for a child to become available. You can foster with a view to adopt but it rarely happens with babies due to the fact that there is a waiting list. If you have any specific questions i would be glad to help you out. It's somewhat intrusive but a great experience thus far.

If you have been adopted by that family they CANNOT send you back like they would a foster child who was unruley. You are now legally (on government papers) their child. If they were to not be able to handle you the only other option is to put you back up for adoption which is HIGHLY unlikely. There is a large process and the family wouldn't be allowed to foster or adopt again i would think. It is taken very seriously.

Hi, My Husband and I are going through Foster Adoption now. We started the whole process in Feb. 2009. We were approved in Aug. Now we are just waiting for our child. The homestudy is nothing to worry about. It goes by pretty quick. The investigator talked to us as a couple and then each of us seperate. DHEC and the fire inspections are really simple to. i have a question... im a 14 yr old and i was a foster when i was 5, i was adopted, but... if the family doesnt like me... could they send me back?...

I hope this goes well for you! Dh and I tried this. It didn't work out at the time, but we are considering it down the road in a year or so. Let me know how it's going for you!!!
