Why did you put a torch fire element in front of the smoke? That doesnt really make sense. I also think the smoke was way too dark, you should still be able to see more than black in it...
Well at fist i've never used Vegas so i won't be really helpful but all i can tell is that on the clip i made a round black faded mask to focus the action, then for the color well i've tried to "blueish" the scene. There is no one only method, you just have to play with the color curves to it feel the way you want.
