The prophet(saw) spoke about a pact that was made before islam when the quraysh chose to take sides with an oppressed man rather than there own kinsman and he(saw) said 'if i were to no of this even though it was before islam i would have allied myself to it. This shows that if someone inclines towards good even if they are non-muslim you should support. Im sure HY would not support something which is anti-islamic. Chek out his talk on islam vs secularism. He rejects alot of secular ideologies.

As far as seculrism is concerned, he has done many lectures on the wrongs of secularism, and then you come up with the sufi argument. tell me, what is it about his 'sufi' teaching that you dislike or what does he specificaly teach which does not coincide with islam.

The report does not address his sufi affiliations, only his political activities on behalf of a foreign oil cartel foreign policy intelligence front. Obviously they like something about his message. If you find an error in the report, please tell me and I will make a quick correction.

The reality is that Hamza Yusuf realises as all of us muslims should that the ummah is in a state at the moment and we need to sort our selves out first before pointing out faults in others. He has dedicated his life to teaching muslims the characteristics of the salaf. Then you get idiots on YT who cant follow the basic tenents of deen and talk about political issues and critisize others who are making an active effort to teach us islam.

Yes there r many so called "idiots" (very Islamic to call them that), who dispute the Sufi foundations of HY's teachings. Like Yusuf Estes for e.g. And last I heard, political that is social governmental organization of human affairs according to Gods law, is the Shariah. Not a side show separate from the sufis purely secular Islam. Or so some idiots say.

Actually the RAND report was being implemented by Hamza Yusuf when he openly admitted and defended taking money from the British govt as a sponsored "moderate" for the Radical Middle Way project (you can look that up yourself)

as well as when he stood shoulder to shoulder with George W. Bush when he proclaimed you are "either with us or against us"

I agree with you - its very easy to open your mouth and critisize someone but difficult to take back whatrubbish has come out - the RAND report is already doing its work by allowing feeble minded individuals to attack scholars - I have issues with HY, but have to give the brother benefit of the doubt as he is a lot more knowledgeable than me.

Hamza Yusuf spent 10 years in various muslim countries studying under real scholars, so dont tell me he has 'no training'. And in politics and history i can guarentee he has more knowledge than you and Yusuf Estes for that matter. I do not no of his involvement with cfr and if he is involved than i have no doubt that he has the best interest of the ummah at heart.

HY has no training in political economy or history, and no formal academic training in Islam. It would be very easy to debate him therefore on his activities on behalf of the anti-Muslim forces in US foreign policy think tanks like the CFR where he is sponsored and possibly funded. I think its disgusting that some Muslims object to legitimate questioning of leaders chosen for Muslims by non-Muslims ; hosen and funded on behalf of an agenda foreign to Islam..

I find it disgusting that muslims are being attacked all over the world, through war and media and some of our brothers and sisters are obsessed with ridiculing muslims who are working day and night to counter these problems simply based on the fact that there opinions differ on certain issues. I think we need to get our priorities sorted out. I can guarentee 99% of these people on YT dont even have the knowledge to debate with someone like HY regarding the issues they critisize them about.
