having the majority of the handle below centre, ensures that the arrow is shot from the middle of the bow and has a more ballanced feel than it would otherwise have.

I like this video. If you used more tools and worked with dried wood you could get great bow from this piece of wood.Greets.

why should the bottom limb be shorter than the top?

Nice video . A few things to note - just to help out - A bow should never be bent severley while green . Moisture content is too high and the wood fibers will permanatley stress , and the bow will have poor recovery . Everytime wood is removed from the belly by tillering , the area should be bent a few times across the knee to recompress removed fibers , keeps the bow from breaking and failing under compression . A lot more to tell you but that is important .
