In Response to "A Question for Atheists" by PeaceandChristianity

1) Big Bang - We don't know how it happened. That's the answer. It could have been god, it could have been a 'collapsing universe', it could have been the flying spaghetti monster - all of these hold no water because they have no physical evidence.

2) Evolution - Things did not all evolve from fish. It may have been that the world was initially covered in water and could not support life on land, but 'fish' is a very, very simplistic interpretation of this. Evolution is too vast a topic to cover in a brief video / informational box, so I encourage you to research evolution on your own (and don't refer to ridiculous Christian apologetics, get your info from actual scientists in the field). Also, a 'primeape' does not exist. I think you mean primate, which is 'a biological order'. Human beings are primates. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primate

3) 'Why did god give you _________?' - First of all, we have to first assume that god exists for this to even be relevant. If god does exist and he is all-knowing and all-powerful, then he is directly responsible for the outcome of your life because he designed it, knowing you will have whatever ailment it is. In this way, it is god's fault because he could change his plan for you to make you live longer or easier. I think you might be referring to 'why does god not heal amputees?' This has more to do with the fact that no matter how hard somebody prays, they will never, ever regenerate lost limbs. Human beings simply cannot do this, but if god wanted to, he certainly could (he's all-powerful). Why does god feel that no person on earth who has lost an arm or leg deserves a new one?

4) Atheists make fun of religious people - Perhaps some atheists do this, but you're generalizing an entire group of people. I could just as easily say that theists mock and belittle atheists, accusing them of being the most evil people in the world, having no morals, supporting murder, etc. Please, you're making ridiculous statements.

First of all, nothing you said made sense. Secondly, you didn't respond directly to any argument I posited. The fact that amputees are 'lucky to be alive' doesn't answer why you can't pray their arms or legs back.

The question "where did this all come from" is not answered by God, since the next obvious question would be "where did God come from". You can if you want to believe that the Big Bang or Evolution where created by some kind of God, if it pleases you - it has no practical implications, and once the origin of the Big Bang is explained, you can move on and transform your God accordingly...

Quick correction - not every star/planet is moving away from the EARTH. That would make us the center of the universe. There are stars coming towards us and stars moving away from us, but all of them moving away from the center of the universe.

@PeaceAndChristianity Just think, if things weren't exactly that way, we wouldn't even exist to think about it. In an almost infinite number of planets in the Universe, it is reasonable to accept that SOME planet would be like our. So that's just the way it is, not luck, not god.
