Glivity- For me Weishi razors and vintage blue-tipped Gillette Superspeeds are the gentlest

I currently use The 'Art of Shaving' brand shave cream w/ a badger hair brush. The stuff is a little expensive but I like it for its rich texture and smooth performance.I also use Everyman Jack Shaving Cream (w/out using a brush) which you can get for about $6 at Target. Good cheap alternative to the more expensive stuff I use. I always use a shave oil before I shave. Currently I use a Merkur D.E. safety razor and Wilkinson Sword blades. The Wilkinson blades are very sharp and hold their edge.

WOW! I mean all this sounds fine and good but way too much work. I have to master using this thing before I can get a close shave? Why?

I don't like the Mach 3, fusion, etc, etc, crap either but at least anybody can pick one up out of the box and get a super smooth super close shave, super fast. Who wants to go through all this trouble just to shave?

When I switched from cartridge Mach 3 razor to DE safety razor I definitely noticed an improvement in facial skin quality. When I use a regular razor now, it feels like the blade is just scraping the hair of my face. More of a passive shave. I do have a beard that is industrial sandpaper strength though.

Then you should get the 'Azor' from the 'king of shaves'
