While there are fears Cyclone Nargis may have killed up to a hundred thousand people, many people managed to survive the disaster.

Twenty-one-year-old Mae is one of them.

After the Cyclone destroyed her village, she swam through the night.

She tells her story of survival in her own words.

  • How Than Shwe family and his family should be punished?

Firstly, Than Shwe grandsons should be killed by hanging them or cut their throat in front of their family

Then Daw Kyaing Kyaing should be thrown from the top of Traders Hotels

Then the rest of the family should be killed one by one by cutting their head

Lastly, Than Shwe should be chopped every single part of him and let them give to dogs in front of him. He must be watched dogs are eating his body and balls

    Pls discuss!

  • you fucking idiot, we don't want any americans in our soil! you think you are so great? you like your country being invaded by fuking idiots? so what our government is incapable? the more we should lend a hand to them instead of being weaklings..no wonder our country cannot develop because too many people like you in the country who think US is so great or wadever shit...

  • I worked in Bogalay in July of 2008 as a non-medical volunteer. Most of the cases we were seeing were Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Many just couldn't sleep. One of them was completely catatonic. She was an elderly woman who lost all her grandchildren and children save one son. She hadn't eaten much for the three months before we came, and while the people who brought her said she used to be large and obese, she was now skinny and frail. Stories like her's and this woman's need to be told.

  • myanmar refugees in malaysia says, "better been caught and imprissoned in Malaysia than stayed in Myanmar with the pressure from their Government". Fuck U.S. u should send your deadly force to myanmar not Iraq. bloodyfool.

  • i feel so bad it sould not be named nargis that is my name and i am nice

  • and how exactly can you care those people in myanmar? i was born and raised there for 13 years, i know how bad the country is. i still have my relatives fighting for their survival daily. Donating money and sending food apparently did not help, which the military regime used to bribe people to vote for them.

  • If such true life video stories do not move you towards greater sense of compassion and care withinyour own heart, then when or if a tradegy occurs to you, will you expect compassion, love and aid relief in return? People please have a care, today it is another tomorow it may be you or me.
