  • i'm a soldier that just got home from basic training. i was discharged due to a medical condition. many of my friends that i met at basic are getting ready to graduate basic and then go on to more training for when they're over in iraq. it's crazy. i hope they all come home safe because i know they're out there fighting for us and i would have been right there with them. they don't want to go but they have to. i value peace and i was willing to fight for it.

  • THANK YOU!

And thank you VERY MUCH for this comment.

  • Okay, after I wrote that I realize telling that guy to "Shut up" trampled on his rights. So, I retract that.

  • I think that guy gets off when people yell back at him, so you didn't trample on his rights. You were just saying what you were feeling at the time, really.

    Thanks!

  • I think anyone who is pro-war ought to get to the recruitment ofice, sign up, suit up, and ship out to the battlefield. Otherwise they have no credibility in any of their pro-war statements.

  • WELL PUT

  • I agree Curt.war is nothing but a way into another war. I hope with the elections your powerful men decide the best for americans and bring your troops home. Many people make strong critics about america, but they forget that beyond an army there are sons, brothers, sisters, fathers and daughters just praying to stay alive another day just to get home. War sucks. It is so old. why cant people concentrate on peace more? that was a wonderful video. Thanks for sharing :)

  • (Wall Street Journal) All of the most important objectives of the surge have been accomplished in Iraq. The sectarian civil war is ended; al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) has been dealt a devastating blow; and the Sadrist militia and other Iranian-backed militant groups have been disrupted.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi government has accomplished almost all of the legislative benchmarks set by the U.S. Congress and the Bush administration. More important, it is gaining wider legitimacy among the population.

  • and they are?

we are there to help Iraq...

  • they are telling us. and Bush said that we went to Iraq cuz we thought they had wepns of mass destruction. then he said that they didnt... so why are we still there?

  • and you know that how?

  • all of the soldiers are now wanting to come home because we have no reason to be in iraq right now anyways

  • No one truly wins any war? Well thank G.D Hitler didn't win.

  • war is bad, what ever the reason, and if lives are lost, then what ever the outcome, neither side wins, cos one side has taken the life/lives of others, and the other side lost the life/lives of their people. just cos your doing it for your country, doesn't make killing any more right than if it was for someones wallet. war is just an excuse, to break the moral laws that peacefull people choose to live by. and the rules of war should contain one rule: no war.
