This is a brief demonstration of the crazy sounds of the Diamond Memory Lane. Diamond Pedals is a company in Canada, and this is probably their flagship product (no longer available in version 1 but updated in version 2).

It sounds like the classic Electroharmonix Deluxe Memory Man, but it is a bit more flexible, including a footswitch for tapping delay tempo. It is more expensive though.

Both of these analog delay pedals have the ability to go over the top and produce crazy swirls, squeals and other strange eerie feedback noises, but this pedal takes it even further, as shown in this video.

It sounds like an alien driving an old American muscle car which eventually breaks down, and the alien gets pissed off, gets back into his spaceship and leaves... (talk about vivid imagination!)

  • I can't understand why so many folks think it's important for a delay pedal to self oscillate like this. Sure it sounds cool, then what.

  • @ampaholics You can see it as a bonus. I really doubt anyone will buy a delay only for its self-oscillation.

  • How much did you get this for? I'm assuming that it was cheaper than the Memory Lane 2.

  • @blueskidd96 I have played with one but didn't own one... Their prices are lower now since they had less options than the 2nd model. At least that's what I think...

  • what?? you dont play that much with knobs when you are playing live... sheeesh

  • You are SO mistaken... you've obviously never seen a live where this is done, let alone play one.

  • Kettles Boiled

  • sounds like 1:35-1:36 the whole way

  • my oscillation sounds really clicky.....

  • Oddly enough, the "echo" setting on the cheapie Ibanez DE-7 can do the same thing. Just got one today, and was having a lot of fun acting like a mad scientist. heh.
