How good a writer is Serling? Even after the mutilated his teleplay, chopping it up like "a roomful of butchers at work on a steer"... he STILL garnered an Emmy nomination for the damn script.... what was left of it. For it's ambitions and it's intent, Rod still got due. The man was so ahead of his time, no wonder he had such a road ahead of him. And he got only a cut of the notoriety he deserved. Just think what he could have accomplished with carte blance. But isn't that true of any artist?
