  • Inglourious Basterds had one extremely blatant shout out to Peckinpah with the dissolve shot to Stiglitz getting whipped, which was a recreation of a shot from the Wild Bunch of Robert Ryan getting whipped in Yuma. The bar shootout always felt like Tarantino doing his Peckinpah gunfight anyways...Even though the scene is a direct response to a brief tavern scene at the beginning of Where Eagles Dare.
