@irelandrocks2 i think they made up mostly as aristocracy. although many viking men married irish woman more so than irish men marrying nordic woman. not all the viking men brought over woman with them when they went off on raids and settled, many of them men did not bring woman because they were young and looking for these things. look at Iceland, they are half irish and half norwegian hahaha.

@Arodon3x0 Hiberno-Vikings or Viking Gaels, they were in pretty big numbers but did not have much political power because they were not into the whole clan nonsense the irish gaels praticed. most viking came via Norway and the Orkeny Islands. The Danes tried invading Ireland and thats when Brian Boru fought them and defeated them, the Danes were notorious more so for being vikings than swedes and norwegians.
