It all looked really good, but I didn't like the changes in the story.

Great job! Interesting story. Good focus. I think if the a:M community did it again with mostly the same people the computer animation could only get better, eventually meeting the standard or maybe surpassing the big studios! Thank you very much.

OMG!!! Somehow I managed to sit through this whole thing. Painful that's all I can say. Render mistakes everywhere, terrible and inconsistent sound for the voice acting, horrible writing. The Hash folks should bury this thing. If you compare this to any other non-professional animation projects out there this is great for a lesson in quality control.

I understand that this was originally made to show the power of and teach people about A:M. Sale must of plummeted after this.

This was a pretty charming film, made more impressive by the way it was put together. Some of the voice acting was a bit amateurish, but that's forgivable. While I wasn't thrilled with all the deviations from the book, some of them I could understand. In the book, it was unsatisfying that Tin Man was only going to get married out of a sense of obligation, so I appreciated the inclusion of an actual love interest in this. I look forward to The Scarecrow of Oz, if and when that is completed.

To say that this movie is incredible would be an understatement. I'm completely blown away by the quality of it. I was considering Animation Master a while back but decided against it because I talked to a professional animator who used it; he said it was very good but that recently development on it had really slowed down and they weren't staying ahead of the game. Also I guess it's not compatible with most other programs. Would love to hear someone's thoughts on this.

Sorry for the negative comment, but the story without Captain Fyter is missing a brill conflict.

In the book you wonder, "Which of them is going to get the girl?" and it's an innovative resolution on Baum's part to make the answer, "Neither of them... and both of them!"

I personally don't mind innovations in character design (the green and gold on Nick is cool!) and other small details, but I'm fed up with Oz adaptations that don't stick to the story.

Having said that, a very fun flick.

I'm very impressed. The Scarecrow and Tin Woodman did not look at all like I expected, but their new designs and voices grew on me very quickly.

I do have to agree with those who said that the removal of Fyter does not seem like a good decision. Without him, the remarks about Chopfyt's patchwork makeup and the head in the cabinet, make no sense.

I could make a million nitpicks, but, bottom line, I'm very impressed and give this an A for effort. I'll be looking forward to seeing more.

You're certainly welcome. I can't post a link on youtube but do a search for hash forums scarecrow of oz and you'll find the next movie we're working on. Most of the voices have been chosen already and in fact I'm dong Captain Bills. I hope it sounds alright. :)

Tell you what, I'll do you one better: Next time you do an Oz film, let me know and I'll not only add my views, but I'll even add my voiceover talents as well. The voices in the film were actually excellent (especially Nick's), and I would love to join them.

You have to take in to account that we thought this was going to be a one off film. Not many people would want to work on a film with a sad ending.....particularly when doing it in their spare time for free. And this fact means that we had a limited workforce which meant some changes we there to make it more efficient. However, other changes were an attempt to make the story more rounded and these were the Directors call. If you want the next one to be more accurate, consider adding your voice.
