Sarath Fonseka to follow UNP economic policies - 29-11-09

Sarath Fonseka has said that he will follow the economic Policies of the UNP government.

He said so answering a question posed by a media person at a press briefing held at Jaic Hilton in Colombo. Reports say that answer to this question has perturbed the grass root level members of the JVP. At a media briefing held recently by the JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that Sarath Fonseka would be their choice. The JVP members are said to be confused over how Sarath Fonseka could follow the UNP economic policies in such a situation. The JVP members are reported to be baffled as to how they could comply with UNP policies such as Privatization and reduction of government sector employees. Meanwhile Sarath Fonseka said that liquor contributes towards clear thinking. When asked about his views on alcohol he said that he will not take measures to bring a prohibition as he is not against social drinking which may help relaxation. Such a prohibition could also shrink his vote base .

Privatization is the right way to go.. Government companies have failed and will fail in the future. The only way to reduce the current ballooning budget deficit is to shrink the size of the government. This is achieved through privatization, which will in turn increase productivity and increase the income of workers. The current government is only making things worse and the worst is yet to come.
