  • atheism-we have the evidence, now what conclusions can we draw from them?

theist-we have the conclusion, now what evidence can we make up for it to be true?

  • @petion2010 Hehe exactly!

Sadly, I know very few people who question everything as much as I do. Both of my "rational" parents both claim to have had ghost experiences, funnily both were when they were young and happened while half asleep.

    Humans are indeed funny creatures.

  • @ulthea Yeah, maybe we should give astrology the same merit as astrophysics, and alchemy with chemistry

  • @revron77 Basically I am just in disagreeance with you that pseudo science should be given equal merit to science. I think it is great that people work on such interesting topics as you mentioned, but it simply isn't equal in importance to science which is the only method that produces results.

Perhaps once day science may advance to include those, but for now it doesn't.

  • @revron77 Science is simply the method used for gathering information about the world we live in. If something cannot be measured or observed in this way, then there is no reason to assign your own value to it.

If we want to discuss this logically, then a spirit certainly wouldn't fit into our current understanding of the world. You should watch some of the science lectures regarding particle physics, atomic theory etc, by people like Pr Brian Cox or Steven Hawking. Theory, but interesting :)

  • @ulthea

But how do you know your conscious..... see this is the thing. People keep shouting about science all the time applying it to something its not made to fit into.

Its not made to answer these questions so why apply it?

Its like trying to apply criminology to a rock.... its just simply retarded.

  • C'est étonnant! Merci!

  • @sofianbelhedi Let alone, there is no evidence to support that a soul, or spirit, exists. Simply being a conscious (self aware) creature is not evidence of anything other than that we are conscious. You cannot change the definition of science to include these unscientific branches of study simply because you feel they are valid : )

  • @sofianbelhedi "both of them are equally relevant and important."

While I agree that meditation can have some personal benefits, you cannot put it into the same category as spiritual travel. They are not even in the same ball park! Science = knowledge, and we simply do not have knowledge of astral travel. No body has been able to prove this in a scientific setting, therefor it falls into the realm of pseudo science. Our brain is required to send and receive info, it is unlikely at best.
