At last, someone who does it the same way as I do. I was getting worried. First shown how to splice by an old Portsmouth dockyard rigger. "Always start with the middle stand, nipper" lol

This is a GREAT VIDEO! Very informative, clear and easy to understand. Thank you!

Love this video. All the other videos I've seen are confusing and leave out small bits of information that make it very difficult to learn.

Very good demo. I eye splced two 3/4" lines for a chicago style mooring harness a couple of years ago and need to replace. This method was much easier. Made an almost perfect splice the first time and only took a few minutes.

thanks!!!
i've learned a lot..--great
Many thanks!Your instructions are uncomplicated and clear. Are you able to give instructions for a right angle splice? From a book / manual perspective, this seems like something better left for a You-Tube presentation like this one.

Have you any reference materials on the splice you mean? There are so many splices and at least twice as many names.

thanks - most of the illustrations are just not quite right. I have had a lot of fun with rope and thimbles for the boat.

Thanks that was a good example but is it the same as a regular splice?

Not really but the procedure is the same. Usually this is done by just weaving the strands inline. This is a bit different and, I think, a bit smoother.
