Blago Impeachment a Poltical Witch Hunt

The Pay for Play Scandal Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, has proven to be another embarrassment for the American News Media. Regardless of the final outcome, the media can be judged in contempt of journalistic integrity regarding its rush to judgment of a man, who as of this date, has not been charged with any crime.

From sheltering President-Elect Barack Obama and staffers, such as Rom Emanuel, along with Representative Jesse Jackson Jr., from any scrutiny, so-called journalists have thrown everything but the Kitchen Sink at embattled Governor.

Meanwhile, the Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has been unable to amass enough evidence to file charges against the Governor, even after having Blago arrested a month ago.

Neither the media, the President-Elect or Congress has been able to persuade the Governor to step down much less block his selection to replace Obama in the Senate, Roland Burris from being seated.

Yet, the focus stays on Blagojevich, even absent any formal charges being filed in court.

Finally, the Illinois legislature impeached Blagojevich, but didn't even address the Governor's supposed co-conspirator Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.'s role in the "pay for Play" Scandal. By giving one IL public Servant a pass, but impeaching another, the IL. House lended credit to Blago's claim that the entire impeachment was politically motivated.

This video is NOT claiming that Blago is innocent.

But, we haven't heard the tapes, at least not in their entirety, therefore, we can't say for sure what is on the tapes, or what context they should be taken in.

Maybe he can be forgiven for the mispronunciation. Also for ignoring our soaring & unmanageable state deficit and unemployment, the evidence on tape & other material to be used in the Senate proceedings, that his actions are essentially self-serving and not for the benefit constituents, & that the governorship is a privledge granted by the people--not a right. Media coverage is secondary to the fact that if the people want him out, out he goes--no questions asked. We've suffered too long.

Yes, Blago has been convicted in the court of public opinion. And the MSM is reflecting the public's opinion...happens all the time.

The vid snips of Blago talking about selling the seat, using profanity (not to mention saying "fuck" Saint Obama), and being an arrogant ass makes him look more like a mafia thug (think of the sopranos) than a State Governor. NOBODY wants pols to act like this.

Blago's still the Gov until legally removed from office. So, we'll see what happens.

The man is an elected official who gets paid with tax payer money. The man should be kicked out for office for saying anything BUT he was going to fill the seat with the most qualified and deserving person.

Being caught on tape saying how valuable the seat is and what HE can get out of his position of power is disgraceful even if he didn't carry out any acts. Crook County is corrupt enough as it is.
