Marriage without own think is not Islamic rules.If a man want to marry a woman,she cant do this without her permission.In Islam marriage a contract of joining a man and a woman and there should be witnesses and man should give something his spouse.He can not take back it from her permission so how can be acceptable marry a woman without her permission.Some people act like they want and follow their thinks,culture and you come and say it is Islam and it comes from Quran.Liar never finds truth.

@shazzadee Finding someone attractive doesn't imply anything, it is irrespective of intelligence. Just as if she had been called ugly, it makes no comment on her capacity for abstract thought. Had he been giving the interview I would see your point, that would have been rude and degrading. If you really care about undermining people, perhaps you should apologize for condescending to him, by calling him "love".

Last year Bolivia allowed tribal punishments again, including stoning to death. Shall a victim of them go asylum and spread lies about Christianity, just because Bolivians are Christians. Have you not seen what happenes in south of spain, when a catholic girl gets pregnant? Does this make it Christian. Or does the barbaric country with terrorist polititians like in Isreal make what they do jewish? I doubt! Hirsi knows how to make money, thats all!

I did for sure longer than you have lived on this earth. And what you are saying may be true in a couple of countries, as same as it is true that many Muslims are harassed now in the west. But it is shere nonesense to build up knowledge and spread so called "facts" over Islam, out of personal experience. It is as if the surviver last year of the burried alive girls in south spain would stigmatize christianity. ... to be followed.

@marwanlee Yes, she lied to get an asylum, to escape forced marriage. In the same position I, even you, will do exactly the same thing, even for less reason than that. If you can't understand that, try live in muslim majority country for several years.

@shazzadee I think you're reading too much into what was meant as a simple compliment. I also think you have some insecurities and/or some kind of feminist chip on your shoulder. My MAIN point was what a brave and articulate woman Ayaan Hirsi Ali is. I'm not going to apologize for adding that I find her rather easy on the eyes.

@Number1Dougster I thought my previous comment would have explained that but I'll repeat myself anyway :P

It implies that intelligent women are less likely to be attractive for one, and second;

It implies that you would be less impressed if she were less attractive, thus undermining her intelligence. Shouldn't judge a book by it's cover love. Plenty of people that don't conform to stereotypes (smart people who are beautiful, as there are plenty of "uglies" which are dumb as well :) )
