Dunn's Hole Cave is one of Jamaica's natural wonders.
It's located 3 kilometres or 1.86 mile South of Stewart Town at the bottom of a 200 (660 ft) metres deep pit.
This cave has the biggest underground chamber of Jamaica.
The dimensions of this large chamber are astounding: 200 m (660 ft) long, 100 m (330 ft) wide and 80 m (264 ft) high.
It's very possible this wonder of nature will be gone very soon! This area, like the rest of Cockpit Country is threatend by the bauxite mining companies!
Here are some pictures of this magnificent underground hall: http://users.skynet.be/sky33676/dunn.html

  • Wow! I am Jamaican, and I never knew that Jamaica had that type of geological feature.

  • This is one of Jamaica's best kept secrets. I actually saw it first hand during the course a week long observations when I was studying undergraduate studies at UWI. A truly impressive feature.
