COASTAL ANESTHESIA CONSULTANTS IS A TEAM OF BOARD CERTIFIED M.D. ANESTHESIOLOGISTS: DR. STEVE YUN, DR. JON BENNETT AND DR. BOGDAN POPA.
TELEPHONE: 714-408-1566. GIVE US A CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT !

OUR CONTACT EMAIL IS: DRPOPAZZZ@GMAIL.COM.
WE ARE LOCATED IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.

THIS VIDEO DEMONSTRATES ONE PEDIATRIC CASE FROM START TO FINISH. WE USE NO NEEDLES TO START - I.E. NO KETAMINE. WE FIRST PRE-MEDICATE WITH ORAL VERSED SYRUP. THIS ENSURES COOPERATION AND COMPLETE AMNESIA.

WE THEN USE A NITROUS AND SEVOFLURANE MASK INDUCTION FOR GENERAL ANESTHESIA. THE I.V. FOLLOWS AND THEN WE PERFORM A NASO -TRACHEAL INTUBATION. NO ONE HAS TO HOLD THE AIRWAY AFTER INTUBATION AND, BECAUSE THE AIRWAY IS SECURE, DENTISTS CAN USE WATER, DRILLING AND AIR WITHOUT CONCERN OF COMPROMISING THE AIRWAY AND ASPIRATION.

THIS ALSO ALLOWS THE ANESTHESIOLOGIST TO BE AWAY FROM THE HEAD OF THE PATIENT. SINCE NO ONE HAS TO "LIFT THE CHIN" THIS CREATES A MORE SPACIOUS WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR THE DENTIST AND THE TEAM (EXACTLY LIKE WORKING ON AWAKE PATIENTS WITHOUT ANY MOVEMENT AND INTERRUPTIONS).

(FULL CONSENT FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF THIS VIDEO FROM THE PATIENT'S MOTHER IS AVAILABLE ON FILE. DRS. YUN, BENNETT AND POPA ARE BOARD CERTIFIED ANESTHESIOLOGISTS BY THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF ANESTHESIOLOGISTS AND HOLD GENERAL ANESTHESIA PERMITS FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. DR. BENNETT IS A LICENSED DENTAL GENERAL ANESTHESIA EXAMINER FOR THE DENTAL BOARD OF CALIFORNIA)

  • Hi yes you can be put to sleep at any age. Ask your dentist for an anesthesiologist or ask for oral sedation with a pill like valium or xanax etc. We are in the Los Angeles/ Orange County area in California and you can look us up under coastal anesthesia (.net).
