I used POVRay to study the shadowing effects of the moon on the earth during a solar eclipse. Accurate sizing and distances of the earth and moon were used, as well as rotation and revolution rates. The 6 sec video is a 1000x time lapsed sequence covering approximately 1.8 hours. Thanks to James Kuffner, Jr. for the earth model used in this rendering.

  • I made a simple submarine with pov-ray. I will never make such a good scene :(

  • @chesstiger24 Stick with it!!! I incrementally improve my ideas over time, refining and making them better. My Earth is nearly realistic now, but only after a long time trying out different aspects of POVRay. I hope to post a short video of it soon. Have you posted your sub?
