No it's not. It's part of the culture. You can't learn/play koto without understanding the history of the instrument and likewise the stories behind the songs. Trust me, she could have talked for a lot longer.

Hmmmmm ...... "Kazoe Uta" is so similar to "Kojo no Tsuki", I'm afraid I've got them confused.
The ident theme used on NHK Radio Japan is in fact "Kazoe Uta", not "Kojo no Tsuki". (I'll have to pass this info on to 7772399).
By the way, that was very well performed.
