@polymath7 our newfag american forefathers were poseurs that followed the latest french fads. It's hard to believe that our republic is (by proxy) a brilliant legacy of none other than the greats Charles-Louis de Secondat, Francois-marie Arouet de Voltaire, and Jean-jacques Rousseau and so forth.

@zzxxyy543 Um, sir- listening to Mozart over teh interwebz can hardly be called "appreciating culture". Any individual plebeian or patrician has at least some idea of who Mozart is and what Mozart sounds like.
And sir- If it had not occurred to you that perhaps my use of patois vocabulary was solely for achieving ironic, humorous effect, then let me elucidate the point clearly: my use of patois vocabulary was solely for achieving ironic, humorous effect.
I'm a shameless provincial american.
