Testifying before congressional lawmakers, National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) President and CEO Ed Bolen directly challenged those who have recently questioned the value of business aviation or mischaracterized the use of business aircraft. At a House Subcommittee hearing otherwise focused on future planning for the nations aviation system, Bolen was asked about the recent drumbeat of negative media coverage of the industry, and an emerging pattern of disparaging the use of general aviation for business purposes and calls for companies to divest of the asset.
Media pundits and some congressional representatives are chastising the business Aviation Industry as a superfluous luxury.
Business Aviation plays a vital role in our economy which needs to be recognized. Business leaders who need to visit several cities in a day or who need to reach rural areas without regular service need this form of transport to conduct business. Several rural communities rely on this mode of transport.
