Heya, how does the camera interpret the images on the bottom of the blocks?

it's a real cube that controls live music, not that crappy cursor... this is the aesthetic issue here!

Right, you got it! There are black-and-white printed markers at the bottom of each cube. A camera beneath the table surface can see and distinguish these markers.

It's kind of neat. Much more aesthetic than the clunky things from high school. ;)

The surface is opaque acrylic glass.
