I'd been playing for four years at this point. I'm much better now.

  • Stay blessed my brother. I make rap beats on a keybord and pray I get as good at playing the keys as you. I cant read music though ive had no lessons so I just play by ear lol.

  • @AZPlayboy28 Since you are already adept at the piano, you'll learn to read music very quickly. It'll all make sense.

  • Only four years? So you started learning music relatively late then? Well, I have just listened to some of your compositions, and I guessed you had been playing the piano at a much younger age. This performance here seems quite good too! It's inspiring to me, because I only started learning music two years ago, and I now have the dream of becoming a professional composer! I'm going to college next year to major in music... it will have been after only three years of music!

  • @fishwithoutwings You'd be amazed what one can achieve with a little motivation.

It's taken a while, but my motivation has returned. I lost it for a few years. I really had to force myself to play and compose to get it going again.

The first time around it seemed almost like a biological certainty that all of this was going to happen. Like it was within my being. the second time I have really had to make it happen.

Good luck with your own musical studies. :)

  • Good interpretation.

    I am reminded of G.G.

    Maybe you like his performance.

  • yes, I was listening to Gould constantly in those days. Perhaps that's a habit I need to get going again. :D

  • Wonderful! Congratulations!

  • nice! i'm practicing these right now and there is so much you can work into them and learn from! It's funny, i have also stopped variation 5 so far. I have a lot of different ideas about the interpretation though, naturally, but one thing i cannot overlook is the 16th notes in the aria at the end of bar 1 and 5 for example, you play them a bit too short, like 32th notes, compare with the 16th notes in bar 3 and 4. Other than that, good work! Very impressive for 4 years of playing.

  • Congratulations !Very soothing music -this is usually the case with Bach - Your rendition is crystal clear .Best wishes .Claude

  • masterpiece and you Matthew treat is so nice, with calmness+tunes move softly.thanks again, for sharing!

  • Thanks for the frend invite. This is very well played. I like the crisp ornamentation, and so stately. Well done. Steve.

  • reeeeally good

  • Comment Part II (Thanks to the word limit)

Thanks for the invite! I am honoured that you asked me to listen to your works! I didn't listen to everything, but I particularly enjoyed soliloquy and introvert. And of course I will subscribe. By the way, I'm in the middle of writing my first, clumsy attempt at a symphony. When it's finished, it'll be on youtube, so keep an eye out for that if you're interested.
