  • In the early descending chords the lower notes in each set are just played normally as in any concerto . Toscha Seidel finds a way to shape each one of those notes with a different expression and meaning . Nobody else does that so well . This is very fine playing though. A different and wonderful interpretation . Powerful playing.

  • This joins Francescatti, Neveu and Oistrakh/Munch as my favorite recorded Chausson Poemes; Kogan was a genius at establishing an atmosphere.

  • @lovesGenet French music is certainly outstanding, but I also think it's the hardest music to play well, especially for the violin. You have to ignore comfortable positions and bowings to get the right sound, and even after getting past the awkward techniques, it's still incredibly difficult to create that French melodic line.

  • French music is so diff ffrom German its good to bathe in it to clean ones veins. Just read entire book of Debussy's criticism. He likes Chausson simplicity, clarity says Franck from Liege (Belgian) was detrimental to his style and he didnt reach maturity beofre early death. where does the French national snobbery come from.Barzun also has the same French at all costs. what dogs and roaches people can be! Well no god we came from the insects and mammals so...

  • I really like melody of beginning 1:22

  • this recording made on Jesepf Guarneri del gesi

  • the 1st melody of beginning, orchestra very good.

  • jes i have

  • Kogan has many other better performences of this piece!!! Why you choose this???
