This explains what the secret Advent tune was used for in Banjo-Kazooie.

*Detailed Information*

Contrary to popular belief, Advent wasn't used for Fungus Forest. It played during a very early map screen in Dream. If you don't know what Dream is, that was a very early version of Banjo-Kazooie, except the hero was a boy named Edison.

Advent is believed to be short for "Adventure". In this case, an
"Adventure map screen".

Don't take my word for it though, read Grants(BK musician) explanation for Advent on Rarewares Tepid Seat:

Also, the E3 video containing the "Fungus Forest" version of clankers cavern can be found here:

  • True, but you forgot a part of the story. Before the idea of banjo kazooie this song was for a map, the map wasn't called advent, but it's the name of the song. Later the game ''Dream'' was dropped, the song was used for the new level fungus forest in banjo kazooie beta, even though, this level was also dropped. That's what happened

  • -It was for a map screen

-Never claimed that the map screen itself was called advent.

-If you have reliable sources for your other claims I will gladly believe them.

  • Are you sure he said it was never used???

he must have meant it was never used when it came out.

but during CREATION,it actually was used.

Sum up all the facts for Fungus Forest and you'll see what im talking about.

why would after all these years would they still have a song from Dream?

    Dream is supposably Banjo kazooie,Right?

so instead of dream they put it in Banjo Kazooie Creation.

  • Sorry I never addressed this comment earlier. He said it was used for a map screen in Project: Dream but was never used for anything in Banjo.

  • i tried the link and looked all over the website but they said nothing whatsoever about nintendo. it's like they've just burnt all the evidence that they ever worked for them.

  • @Ruttie2 Actually, in Banjo-kazooie It was used for a beta map, called Giant's lair (Gruntilda's lair)

  • @runehero124 It was going to be used in Banjo Kazooie as the theme for the Giant's Lair. The place then changed to Gruntilda's Lair and the song was never used.

  • Come on guys really they said advent was supposed to be used in Giants lair and people mistake it for fungus forest and mount fire eyes look it up on banjo kazooie wiki has aloooootta information

  • I've read elsewhere that it was also known as "Giant's Lair" in Dream days. Back then, The Giant was Grunty's beta character. So Giant's Lair was beta for Grunty's Lair.

  • You know, it really does sound like a map screen.

  • wasnt this origionaly going to be used in the "giants lair"?

  • @cron78 Yeah I would like that, too. But because it seemed to have somewhat of a plot I don't think Microsoft will let it happen.

  • Maybe Fungi Forest's lobby music is inspired by "Advent"?
