1988 had a pretty decent points race going on - Bill Elliott held the lead, but holy crap, Rusty Wallace was winning everything, left and right. Going into this race, Rusty had won three straight races, but hardly made any ground on Elliott because the 9 would constantly finish strong, right behind the 27.
It was a pretty good race, and I found that stop sign confusion pretty damn hilarious.
This was a special race to look back on, considering the celebration at the end, and how Kulwicki's star would rise tremendously over the next four years.
