This is Hamsadhwani...kalyani is a shadava ragam..meaning other than the stationary notes Sa n Pa..it has all the other 6..while hamsadhwani is a janya of shankarabharanam...with only 5 notes..other than Sa n Pa leaving out Da..

This song would be so much better if there was less cheesy Lezz and more classical vocalizations from hariharan over this song. Regardless, this is still a great song, but it doesn't last the test of time, because it sounds SOOO 90s, hahaha.

Hansdhwani is best perceived as a janya of Kalyani,if you carefully observe the nuances of the raga. Its time we recognise ragas as their aesthetic construction rather than a scalic representation.
