How to EQ Vocals for Professional Sounding Results Using a Simple Graphic Equalizer
Recording artist/producer Owen Critchley records and takes you step by step through the vocal eq and mixing tips for his song, "I've Been Around" in this special home recording feature tutorial.
The song was recorded and mixed using the dead simple methods of his Easy Home Recording Blueprint.
In this half hour video, Owen takes us from pre-production tips and best practices, recording a professional quality lead vocal, how to easily eq vocals using a simple graphic equalizer, all the way to mixing and eq-ing background vocals.
You say your voice is just raw, but aren't you sending it through some kind of an auto tuning effect? Sounds great, but aren't those units expensive, or do you have a cheap or free option that could provide this same type of effect. Great stuff Owen.

@terryreidfan123 - @terryreidfan123 - We recorded straight into Garageband and then used Garageband's built in graphic EQ and tuner effect. So, all free stuff. The thing about G'band's tuning effect is you gotta make sure you specify the song's correct key when starting a new song and weirdly, you have to sing in better tune than usual because its tuner response is slow and things can weird if the singer slides up or down to a note. Kinda fun for certain things though.
