@RodrigoCabanillas Judo focuses mostly on takedowns and throws, BJJ focuses mostly on mat work. The main differences are really in competition. If nothing happens on the ground in Judo after a short period, the ref stands them up, thus the focus on takedowns. In BJJ competition you will not be stood up.

In a lot of judo schools you will see a lot of randori starting from the ground and in Brazil a lot of BJJers are also blackbelts in judo.

BJJ = Ground, passing/defending the guard, positioning and submissions

@RodrigoCabanillas BJJ focuses on ground fighting, while sports judo is mostly just takedowns. of course BJJ also has takedowns and most forms of self defence or combat judo also have locks and armbars
