  • What kind of horn are you playing?

  • @Passion613

At that time I played a Selmer Mark VII. Nowadays I play a Mark VI again and like it a lot.

  • Two questions: Now that it has been over a year now, how do you compare the Durga to the Brecker? My mind is already made up with the Brecker, regardless of the advice I've been given to try a Ponzol over that...the mbii is the sound that makes me fall in love with the tenor over and over again. My current Brilhart Level-Aire has seen better days...Second Question! What ligature are you using on the Brecker? Thanks! I've been considering the Selmer M402 for when I get the Brecker. :-)

  • @eyeheartchrist

Thanx for watching! I still use the Brecker II often but lately I started using the Durga again, because it reminds me of the Brecker I i once owned. It's a little bit smaller and keeps me from blowing out my guts too much.

Although the Brecker II is a powerfull mouthpiece, I sometimes want one that is a bit softer so I won't have a beep in my ears after studying for an hour or so...

The Selmer Lig is for me the best option for the MB II. Cheers!

  • Hey.

I noticed you use the 'classic' high G fingering although you got the high F# key, wich you can use to play an easier high G..

Are you doing this because you like that sound more then the other?

  • @bambaDisease

I never use the high F# key, don't like the sound of it.... It sounds too high...

  • I like the MBII, only because it has a more solid core to the sound as well as focus. I like the Theo Wanne because it has "dimension" to the sound as well as a good low end spread. Someone just needs to create a mouthpiece that has both of these things, if that's even possible... prob not lol

  • id rather here a comparison bettween an MB 1 and the Durga

  • What kind of ligature are u using on the G?

  • I think you sound much better on the Durga than the MBII. The MBII sounds thin on the bottom end, where the Durga is much fatter.

  • which opening are you using on the Theo Wanne? I've been using an Otto Link for many years, but was considering the Durga, was thinking of getting an 8.

  • you sound more like brecker on the durga. ironic.

  • I play Theo wanne DURGA on Alto myself but you really sound great on the MB11 ! nice work

  • @artsaxman I've been looking for a piece that is a definite upgrade and all around piece, and hoping that it's not louder than my Level-Aire since that particular piece use to be difficult to control its volume and handle a decent sound. I don't have that much of a problem hitting lower notes without increasing volume with the other pieces in my collection, but the Level-Aire is bit resistant in the lower register. I like what Theo Wanne is doing, but the prices are scary to my wallet atm. :-)
