For this set, I decided to try out the Sprinter, also known as the B Dasher Mk II in the European and Australian versions of the game. It was a bit difficult to figure out how I was supposed to use it, but I think I got the hang of it: It plays like a heavyweight kart, with very slow acceleration but a high top speed. Once the momentum gets going, it's hard to stop, but if it stops, it's hard to build up again.

Needless to say, the harsh racing environment means the Sprinter has a hard time. If it falls behind, it falls behind heavily and must find a way to catch back up. An ability to avoid obstacles is a must.

Race #1
Coconut Mall
Here's an example of me getting beaten into the ground by items. It happens towards the end of the first lap: Thunderbolt, then Red Shell, then Bullet Bill. It's a pretty mild one, but it's enough to permanently take away my lead, since it caused me to tense up and make mistakes. The Sprinter isn't a kart well-suited for incidents like these...

Race #2
DS Desert Hills
I just wanted to show this race to point out that one of the players here has adopted the Mii of Killua (キルア), the child assassin from the anime/manga Hunter×Hunter. Here in the Western world, that series is sometimes called "the best manga nobody read," and while the player was obviously Japanese, it was pretty interesting to see another HxH fan playing Mario Kart Wii. (How is it that Yoshihiro Togashi could make such an American success with Yu Yu Hakusho and witness a complete flop with his next major series?)
Of course, if that's really Killua, then Mario Kart Wii should be a cinch compared to the Greed Island video game he had to beat. That game's a real killer, literally.

Race #3
Grumble Volcano
We haven't had much Grumble Volcano in a while, so here you go! This marked the end of a very long series of races on GBA Shy Guy Beach. I've kept in the course selection stuff for you just to show you how bad it became. There were literally ten races at GBA Shy Guy Beach in a row--if there was going to be one more, I'd leave that room and find people with more diverse tastes. Why do people do this? How can people put up with this sort of repetitiveness? I'll bet that Polly was sick and tired of it too. Those two must have seriously tested his patience.

  • @Delucs23 I have three stars, the highest amount.

  • which game is better? sonic and sega all-stars racing or mario kart?

  • They're both great.

  • tell me something, is there an ALTERNATE way to unlock the sprinter like i heard u win 4k wifi races, or 3.5k battles or is it just 24 expert staff ghosts, and if so, r they easy to unlock???

im having alot of trouble unlocking this kart....

  • I don't know of the alternate ways, really. The fast staff ghosts can be easy or hard, depending on how much you've played. If you just started Time Trials, they can be kind of difficult to get.

  • @Overhazard Who's your favourite character?

  • 0:51 - 0:58

    Fail. :P

  • K.O.K. looks familiar... it was probably just a wifi race I remember them from.

  • Are you gonna use TJefferson on a different vehicle than the Daytripper?

  • Who wanted Mario to be like Funky Kong by saying Yes-HaHoww?

  • @zeenasi Mario kart wii has a supperior online. But mario kart ds has a very well online as well. And you cant give it to a game because its online is better but the other one still has online. Especially when the other has better gameplay.

  • Mario Kart Ds is better than mario kart wii. For these simple reasons. Mario kart wii, crashing is too hazardous and items are overpowered(you can be in 1st place and get hit with a shell and you'll end up in 4th). Ds had a mission mode that had fun games and challenges, and cleverly designed bosses. Mario kart ds had more and better karts. Everyone had their own three karts. Then you can unlock all karts for any character. So you can be your favorite character with any class. More freedom.
