How were you able to get it to not work properly so you could record it?

What app did you have running in the background that is likely to be the main suspect. (Or do you know what app causes it?)

Has that phone been rooted? or is it stock?

@tattoos01 Good question. It's an intermittent problem, and struck right as I woke up (thus the crappy video). Phone's not rooted. I've seen in happen in different apps, though.

Had a similar problem with the Motorola Cliq, Motorola issued an OTA update and fixed it, this is likely an issue that will be repaired with a future update as well, I'm thinking Google may have rushed the phone out too quickly, a month from Beta to market is just not enough time.

I have this problem ALL THE TIME. I regret buying this piece of shit phone but I'm stuck with it.

its very well known that this happens when the power is plugged in (or has been unplugged but not locked/unlocked) And its apparently caused by the crappy controller chip they used on the touchscreen

@1stb1 I had this issue with my Nexus One but updating to the latest firmware 2.2.1 FRG83 or now th recently released FRG83D has stopped this happening at regular occurences. If however it does start to play up then all you do is turn the screen off then back on again and it seems to solve it as well. Hopefully when gingerbread AKA android 2.3, comes out then this issue will finally be completely resolved :)

my nexus onedoes this when it gets warm, it's dumb. bought it 4 months ago. the location where i press is wrong, not just when usingkeyboard, can be using other apps or surfing web. sometimes when i press something it hangs there. so like if i press delete once it deletes 15 characters. have to wait for it to cool down. never owned anotehr smartphone so not sure if this is a common problem or not

i didnt like the nexus one... sure it had som great features but as phones go it was shit... trying to type on the thing was difficult... the touch screen compared with iphone was extremely poor!!! i would have my blackberry any day

@enderwiggin76 this is the exact reason. the nexus one kb is not multitouch. so make sure ur skin is not touching the capacitive area i the bottom or anywhere. its not a bug or caused by anything else. like he said.. adjust d way u hold it.

Mine was doing this when I first began to use the Nexus One. The iPhone made me lazy :(

It's to do with your skin making extra contact points on the glass surface and then the device bugs out due to too many capacitive inputs at the one time.

I noticed that when I was holding the phone 2-handed and typing with my thumbs, the way I was gripping the device allowed for the skin of my left and right fingers to constantly touch the glass edges near the soft keyboard.

Adjust how u hold the phone :)

This is so true, and no one knows how to fix this problem.

I am starting to regret buying this phone! I believe the one thing u can do when this occurs is take out the battery while it is on. (correct me if i'm wrong)

I bought this phone a week ago and have had several problems already.

Go for the iPhone 3GS. i.e. if the shovenistic apple lets u!
