just a little fun clip i recorded while playing Il-2 1946 (WW2 era combat simulator) online.

This is the 1943 version A-20 light bomber with 50% fuel and torpedo.
The take off included full flap, 110% throttle, and a little wing drop for good measure. I left the carrier deck at 130km/h, pulled the gear up straight away and just held the nose slightly up and the wings as level as i could. Climb out commenced at 180-190km/h. Was much fun!

  • Awesome takeoff! I was (once) able to have it takeoff without the torpedo, but with 100% fuel :D Sure is hilarious. Have you tried to land it though? It's quite a challenge :)

    Cheers!

  • @NA734 its good fun i ended up becoming quite good at doing it when i was flying online. As for landing, i made 1 or 2 tries but as i was playing online i was usually either shot down before i could land or i just wanted to get down onto a nice big airfield fast and easy lol. Maybe i should try and make a simple mission with a carrier for takeoffs and see what i can do offline, might try Ar 234 too lol
