Antonio Perkins scored on returns of 74, 84 and 65 yards to become the first Division I-A player to score on three returns in a game. Perkins finished with 277 yards, which also broke the record of 219 yards on punt returns set by BYU's Golden Richards against North Texas in 1971. OU went on to defeat UCLA 59-24.

  • I saw this on TV. By the third touchdown, I was just in aww. Mussenburger " take the penatly!" Hell yea that deserved a HUGE celebration.

  • wow

  • this was before adrian peterson was in school

  • I was at that game, the place sounded like a bomb went off when he returned the 3rd one. AD came in a year later. . regarding 28, everyone called Perkins AP and Peterson was, as he's always been, AD.

  • The one home game that I didn't attend that year and I missed this! I let my son's girlfriend have my ticket so she could attend. At least they got to enjoy it live. Perkins was on fire!

  • Perkins was the best return man in the history of OU and maybe even the country

  • he has the record for 8 in a ncaa career.....and whoa isnt it kinda weird(i just noticed) he plays for OKLA...his number is 28....and his initials are AP.....strange
