This is a video of the PortaDolly® XLDL (Xtra Long Dog Leg) in its first field trial.
PortaDolly is my registered trademark for the compact and portable dolly track system. We use off the shelf (OTS) Igus DryLin W linear bearing with a dual platform stacking array to allow for XY tracking of a video camera through space. This allows for wrap-around and fly-around moves. We're also experimenting with the use of a scaffold support, dubbed PortaScaffold . The PortaDolly is fully functional using our pioneered dual tripod and dual tripod asymmetrical arrangement, but we really believe that a scaffold increases support and minimizes shear on the bearings. The video of me testing the system was taken with a Flip Video brand Mino HD camera, fresh out of the box. Special Thanks to Pure Digital for the donation!
