Its not the birds you will be hearing in Cairns it would be the sound of an emergencie services vehicle going to pick up some poor tourist that has been assaulted. Doves flying around in Cairns common seriously , in reality its the Indian myna bird.

i just got back from cairns,and it is a very nice place but it is impossible to survive unless you have a full time job. if your in the constuction industry you have no chance
with out exaggerating i spoke to atleast 50 guys that loved it ther but hade to leave because ther is just no work whats so ever. if you could get a full time job and your on place it would be awesome but if not it can become hellish due to heat and boredam you will most likley look for work everyday and get nowhere

Hell on earth? My goodness.. You've obviously never come close to such a thing if you think Cairns is it. Go out to Chillagoe, tell us how great a time you have there. Cairns's weather is WEATHER (sometimes it rains, boo, how the hell do you think it stays so green) and people are people, it takes all kinds! I'd definitely not say we're all slacked jawed peanuts, my word, unless we're soul-less robots you aren't happy?

A "hopeless joke" may have been a bit non discriptive. A Damn humid hole with wild and unpredictable weather full of slack jawed peanuts that drink more than they work and fly by night tourist that don't give a shit about the town turn this place into hell on earth!
